The infancy period of jade-belt hooks was from the late Neolithic Age to the late Springand Autumn period. At that time, the jade-belt hooks were rarely excavated and not intact in shape. From the Warring States Period to the Western Han Period was the thriving period of the jade-belt hooks. They were plentiful not only in amount but also in types at this time. As they decreased dramatically in amount and their shapes were monotonous from the Eastern Han and the Northern and Southern Dynasties, the jade-belt hooks remained in the decline stage. From the Song Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty, the jade-belt hooks were not seen during the archaeological excavation. However, they were plentifully found in Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. This perhaps was because of its function for pleasure.
