The S9 in the site of Shizi Beach is a site of the late Paleolithic Period along the middle Yellow River. From the layer which has a history of 12756-11350 years, millstone and stone burnisher were excavated. Through the analysis of the residue and small scraps, archeologists believe that the millstone can also be used in plant food process, pigments grinding and ornaments polishing. From the proportion of panicodae and enhancement of the semisedentary tendency reflected by millstone, the mankind had entered the stage of intensive collection of wild cereals, i.e., the earliest stage of origins of millet agriculture.
