明代的几案与桌种类繁多。几案有方形、长条形、月牙形等。桌有高型桌，月牙形桌，也就是半圆桌。明式圆桌和半圆桌并不多见，也分有束腰和无束腰两种。其圆桌有些做成两张半圆形桌，并合成而用，单独的半圆桌俗称“月牙桌”，可以单独使用，迄今尚在江南民间流行。

There were various types of tables and desks in Ming Dynasty. The tables can be quadrate, rectangular or crescent. The desks can be high or crescent. The crescent desk is also known as the semi-circular desk. The circular or semi-circular desks are rare to be seen and can be divided into those with corset-shaped parts or those without corset-shaped parts. The circular desk can be made from two semi-circular desks. A single semi-circular desk is called crescent desk and can be used alone which is still popular among people living in the regions of the south of Yangtze river.
