汉代是中国玉器史上繁荣发展的时期，也是我国古代葬玉之风比较盛行的时代之一。由于汉代推崇厚葬，墓内埋葬物品众多，丧葬用玉是其组成部分之一，而葬殓玉器又是丧葬玉器的大宗。两汉墓葬中出土的葬殓玉器有玉衣、枕、面罩等，枕又是其中极具有时代特色的代表性器物，是汉代帝王列侯及高级贵族、官吏等殡殓时常用的丧葬用玉。

英语语境:

The Han dynasty witnessed great development of jade wares in China. It was also the time when burial jades were popular. As luxurious burial was advocated in the Han dynasty, a great number of objects would be buried and funeral jades were a part of the burial objects. And burial jades constituted a major part of funeral jades. From the tombs of the Eastern Han and Western Han dynasties, such jade wares as jade suits, jade pillows and jade masks were excavated, among which the Jade pillows were objects representative of that time and were used to encoffin a corpse and carry it to the grave for emperors, noblemen and officials.
