1969年4月，在济南市无影山南坡发现了一处西汉墓地。山东省和济南市博物馆对该墓地作了勘探，清理西汉初期土坑竖穴墓葬14座（土层以下是青花岗岩风化而成的砂砾层，墓葬全埋在砂层中）。其中，11号墓不仅出土了一组著名的彩绘乐舞杂技陶俑，同时还出土了罕见的彩绘鸠形陶鸟两只：一为陶载壶鸟（亦称负壶陶鸠），一为陶载人鸟（亦称载人载鼎陶鸟）。

In April 1969, a tomb of the Western Han dynasty was discovered in the southern hillside fields of Wuying Mountain in Jinan city. Shangdong Museum and Jinan City Museum both made exploration on the tomb and cleared fourteen vertical hole tombs (below the layer of soil was gravel weathered from green granite and the tombs were all buried in the gravels). A set of painted dancing acrobatics pottery figurines was excavated from Tomb No.11, from which a pair of rare painted turtledove-shaped pottery bird were also unearthed. One was pottery pot bird (also called pottery turtledove carrying the pot), and the other was pottery human bird (also called pottery bird carrying human and tripod).
