在中国当代雕塑艺术发展进程中，出现了大量的彩色具象雕塑。彩色雕塑有着悠久的历史，并在现存的雕塑作品中占有很大的比重。它曾断裂后再次出现在人们的视野之中。中国彩色雕塑于上个世纪末回归，且相比断裂之前的彩塑作品，在形式和内容上都出现了很多不同的改变与发展。当代彩色雕塑相对于文革时期以前的现代雕塑而言，在创作理念上由写实走向具象，由再现转为呈现；在表现的内容上，由英雄、偶像走向平民、世俗。

In the development process of Chinese sculpture art, a lot of polychrome concrete sculptures emerged. The polychrome sculpture has a long history, and accounts for a large proportion of existing sculptures. It had disappeared for a long time before reappeared in people's vision in the last century. Chinese polychrome sculpture had experienced great changes and development both in form and content. Compared with modern sculpture before the Cultural Revolution, the creative concepts of contemporary polychrome sculpture have changed from realism to concreteness, from reproduction to representation; and from heroes and idols to civilians and secular men in expression content.
