The ancient Qiuci was seated along the Silk Road of Western Regions which had played a part of the bridge in the eastward introduction of the Buddhism. With the development of Buddhism in Qiuci, large numbers of grotto temples were carved, among which the Kizil Grottoes was one of the very representative works. The Kizil Grottoes was built on a grand scale and had been saved relatively complete. Rhombic single breadth is one of the main forms of mural composition of Kizil Grottoes, which displays obvious features of the region. This new form of composition is so unique in Buddhism mural art that it has set its own banner.
