英语语境:

Figured jar was a typical funeral object in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River during Wu and Jin period. All the images on this relic such as figure, animal and building had symbolic significance. The appearance of Buddha, Hu people and the Buddhist animals resulted from the mixture of Buddhism and the Taoism. For instance, the first class building may be the reflection of the one in fairyland. The decorations on figured jar had the functions in directing the“Hun”(soul) to become immortals and giving bless to their offspring. Meanwhile, the lower part of the figured jar can be used as the holder for people's “Po”(soul). In general, this kind of funeral object possessed the very symbolic meaning in people's belief system during that period.

The appearance of celadon lotus-shaped Zun was relative to Buddhism and the designs of lotus petals, honeysuckle, banyan, composite flowers also originated directly from the Buddhist art.
