In 2005, a brick single-chamber tomb was excavated in Xi'an City. This tomb consisted of the long ramp passageway, ventilating shafts, tunnel, corridor, entrance-sealing wall and the tomb chamber. There had been murals on the grave wall originally. The unearthed grave goods included stone epitaph, porcelain and pottery jars, pottery figurines of men wearing hoods or futou-soft cloth headgear and beauties, figurines of saddled horses, camels, pigs, dogs and chickens, etc. The epitaph showed that the occupant of this tomb was Regui, the prince of the Xi ethnic group in hostage to the Tang Dynasty who died in the eighteenth year of Kaiyuan Era (730 A.D.) in the reign of Emperor Xuanzong.

In July 2008, Taizhou Museum excavated a sticky rice soup sealed tomb of the Ming Dynasty located in the Sensenzhuang section of Jiangzhou North Road in Hailing District, Taizhou, Jiangsu. This tomb was a couple joint tomb with wooden outer and inner coffins, from which a set of valuable costumes of the Ming Dynasty were unearthed, including damask lined robe, plain silk robe, gold thread sewn damask skirt, wind hat, etc. According to the text on the funeral streamer, the family name of the male occupant of the tomb was Wang, and that of his wife was Xu. The excavation of this tomb provided physical materials for the researches on the textile technique, costume culture and burial custom of the Taizhou area during the Ming Dynasty.
