wind shelter door
The forms of gate varied a lot in ancient architecture. For example, the street door, the temple gate, the palace gate, the wind shelter door and partition door of the house, the festoon gate and screen door of the courtyard, the gate of city wall, etc. Briefly, any entrance or exit, no matter what kind of door it was, such as a single door, double door, multi-leaf door, or even a moon gate without door leaf, can be generally referred to as a door. It is believed that the ancient palace had the most elaborate gates. The palace in Zhou dynasty had a reputation for Wu Men San Chao, i.e., anyone who intends to enter the palace, he should first pass through five gates successively: Gao gate, Ying gate, Lu gate, Ku gate and Zhi gate.
