Taking the handed-down clothes from the museums and the folk clothing hall in Jiangnan University for example, along with the method of field work investigation, the archeologists analyzed the evolution of the traditional Chinese patchwork from perspectives of sewing skill and symbolic meaning in literature, and finally summarized its cultural changes in different periods.
