贡缎类是用缎纹组织制织的织物，有经面缎和纬面缎两种。用经面缎纹构成的贡缎，布面经纱方向的缎纹浮线较长，织物表面看来全由经纱组成，称为直贡。用纬面缎构成的贡缎，布面纬纱浮长较长，织物表面看来好像全由纬纱所组成，称为横贡。

Palace satins are textiles woven with satin weave. They can be classified into two categories, kettsatin and filling satin. Palace satins made with kettsatin are called satin drill as the oose stitch is longer in the direction of kettsatin and it appears that the surface of the textile is completely woven with kettsatin. Palace satins made with filling satin are called sateen as the oose stitch is longer in the direction of filling satin and the surface of the textile seems to be completely woven with filling satin.
