Duanhong Bridge is located in the east of the Hall of Military Prowess of the Forbidden City. The single-arch stone building is oriented south and north across the Inner Golden Water River. It is about 18.7 metres long and about 9.2 metres wide at its widest point. The road of the bridge is paved by large blocks of white marble; the flying dragon design with two horns and five claws, which symbolizes the imperial power, is carved into the railings to show the grace of dragon flying. The expressions and gestures of stone lions are vividly captured in the baluster column. Somewhere in the baluster column, there is only one sculptural lion, and somewhere else, more sculptural lions can be found.
