英语语境:

As a script that is used on stele, semi-cursive script is important in studying calligraphy arts and it shares many similarities with stele works of other scripts. However it also has its own unique features. The popularity of semi-cursive script began in Tang Dynasty and many calligraphic steles of semi-cursive script were made during this period. But it did not last long and the amount of works was not as many as other scripts, therefore, it didn't exert much influence on the history of calligraphy and was usually ignored by people.
