西山大佛是我国最早的露天石刻大佛，具有不可估量的历史价值、文物价值和艺术价值，并且极高的社会经济价值。但国内目前类似石刻文物的保护工作仍处于起步阶段，技术和经验还不够成熟和丰富。 大佛边坡直立，边坡岩体为二叠为厚层砂岩，岩层近水平略向坡内倾斜。区域构造节理切割和临空卸荷使大佛岩体呈松动块状。基于强度折减法的二维有限差分分析表明，边坡边缘局部变形可能导致陡崖由反向坡变为顺向坡，从而使大佛边坡趋于滑动失稳。进一步运用极限平衡法分析了多种工况条件下大佛松动岩体边坡的顺层抗滑动稳定性和抗倾覆稳定性。

英语语境:

In our country, Xishan Grand Buddha is the first open-air stone Buddha, with incalculable historical, cultural, artistic, and high socio-economic value. However, the domestic protection work of stone carved cultural relics is still at an early stage, and the techniques and experience are not mature and rich. The Buddha slope stands upright and the rock-masses are composed of thick Permian post, which dips slightly inwards the slope face. Affected by both the incision of regional joints and the load relief to free face, the rock of the Buddha slope becomes loosened blocks. To better understand the potential failure modes, FLAC-2D based on strength reduction method was employed to model the deformation of the Buddha slope. The modeling results reveal that the localized deformation of the rock-masses may trigger reversing of rock beddings, which would make the back-slope convert to dip slope. In this situation, the Buddha slope has the potential for plane failure. Furthermore, pseudo-static together with limit equilibrium methods is applied to the analysis of the plane failure and toppling failure under different working-conditions.
