2009年5月，陕西省考古研究院在西安市南郊的长安区韦曲街道夏殿村西发掘了北周宣政元年(578年)莫仁相墓及建德六年(577年)莫仁诞墓。莫仁相为莫仁诞之父。2座墓皆为长斜坡墓道，多天井单室土洞墓，墓葬形制较为完整，属于北周时期的典型墓葬。虽遭盗扰破坏，随葬品多被毁损，但出土陶俑群组合关系完整、种类较为齐全，尤其是两合墓志的发现为北周时期高品秩官员家族及北朝史的研究提供了新的文献资料。

In 2009, the Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology excavated Moren Xiang's and Moren Dan's burials at Xiadian village in Chang'an district of the south suburb of Xi'an city. These two tombs dated to the first year of Xuanzheng (578) and the sixth year of Jiande (577) of the Northern Zhou Dynasty respectively. Moren Xiang was Moren Dan's father. Both of the two tombs are catacombs with single chamber, a long sloping entry and multiple airshafts. The shapes of these burials are preserved quite intact with typical tomb characteristics of the Northern Zhou Dynasty. Even though they have been looted severely and most of the burial goods are shattered, the assemblage of terracotta figures from these tombs remains relatively intact which includes most types of figure items. Two epigraphs unearthed from these burials have provided new data for the study of high-rank officials in the Northern Zhou Dynasty and the history of Northern Dynasties.
