玉髓若按颜色划分、可分为红玉髓、绿玉髓、葱绿玉髓、血石髓和白玉髓几个品种。其中的绿玉髓因含镍、铬等致色元素而呈苹果绿或粉红色。绿玉髓比较美丽，用来制作戒面等首饰品，大块者亦可做玉器。中国目前的绿玉髓制品，原来都来自澳大利亚，故有“澳州玉”之称。事实上，早在50年代，就在津巴布韦发现一处含铬的绿玉髓，其产状和规模与昆士兰中部罗克汉普顿附近Marlborough绿玉髓矿床相似。

英语语境:

Based on the color, chalcedony can be divided into red chalcedony (carnelian), green chalcedony (plasma), light green chalcedony, haemachates and white chalcedony. The plasma is apple green or pink because it contains coloring element like nickel and chromium. It is quite beautiful, so it is used to make rings and other jewelry. If it is large enough, it can be used to make jade article. The present plasma products in China originally come from Australia, so it is also named “Australian jade”. In fact, as early as 50 years ago, a plasma deposit was found in the Republic of Zimbabwe, whose occurrence and scale were similar to the Marlborough plasma deposit near Rockhampton in Central Queensland.
