彩绘木雕小座屏，是一九六五年冬于湖北江陵县望山一号楚墓里出土的。这件漆器的两端着地，中部悬空，屏座上置一雕屏，雕屏四周围以长方框。在这件长51.8、座宽12、屏宽3、高15厘米的小座屏上，由雕刻的动物组成连续性的图案，计有凤、鸟、鹿各四只，蛙二只，小蛇十五条，大蟒二十六条，共计五十五个动物。这件彩绘木雕小座屏，左右对称，匀衡美观，上镂空而下为整块，显得稳重；运用透雕与浮雕的手法，五十五个动物穿插交错，相互争斗，变化复杂而又有规律。

The small wooden screen carved with designs was excavated from No.1 Chu Tomb, in Wangshan, Jiangling County, Hubei province in the winter of 1965. The two ends of the lacquerware meet the ground, the central section hangs in the air, and on the base there is one carved screen that is surrounded by rectangular boxes. The length of the wooden screen is 51.8 cm, the base width 12cm, the screen width 3cm, and the height 15cm. The continuous patterns are composed of 55 carved animals, including four phoenixes, four birds, four deers, two frogs, 15 snakes, 26 pythons. The symmetrical design of this small wooden screen is perfectly proportioned and beautiful, whose upper part is hollowing out while the lower part is a unibody design. With openwork carving and rilievo techniques, the 55 animal carvings are intermixed with each other with both variability and regularity.
