明式家具的架具与其他类型家具相比，应算是比较轻型的家具。常见有盆架、镜架、衣架、灯架四类。明式盆架有高型和低型两种。低型盆架有三腿、四腿、六腿的式样，其造型一般都很简朴，稍讲究一些的只在腿的上端略施雕刻，样式有莲座、净瓶、坐狮等。从结构上看有整体和折叠的两种。高型盆架多为六腿整体结构，其特点是两后腿高耸，上有搭脑，中有花牌，有素简和华丽两种。

英语语境:

Compared with other types of furniture, Ming-style racks were lighter in both size and weight. The four common racks were washbasin stand, mirror bracket, clothes rack and lamp holder. The Ming-style washbasin stand can be classified into two types: high-leg ones and low-leg ones. The washbasin stand with low legs had patterns of three legs, four legs and six legs respectively with austere ornamentations. The furnished ones are slightly carved with patterns such as bottom of lotus seed, nectar vessel, and couchant lion, etc., on the legs. In terms of its structure, the low-leg ones can be further divided into the ones with and the other ones with foldable structure. The washbasin stand with high legs was mostly unibody design with six legs, which was characterized by lofty hind legs, Danao on the top (one cross beam at the head of the furniture) and face card in the middle. Its style may be either simple or extravagant.
