中国丝绸博物馆收藏有一件彩绮缘双面织锦覆面（藏品编号2749），此覆面征集自中国西北地区，外观近正方形，长31 cm、宽30 cm。从织锦覆面的组织结构来看，其采用中原内地传统的织造方法，而背面的红地团窠联珠新月纹锦则具有典型中亚地区斜纹纬锦的技术特征；纹样上采用了联珠、太阳神、新月、象、琵琶等具有极强异域色彩的图案题材，是糅合中西之风的典型产物。通过对比其它同种图案风格的织物，以及同时使用的平纹经锦和斜纹纬锦的流行时期，判定此件文物的年代约在北朝至隋时期。

China National Silk Museum has a fascinating collection of a double-faced warp brocade blanket with colored damask trim (collection NO. 2749). The blanket is collected in Northwest China, and is subquadrate in the size of 31 cm by 30 cm. In terms of its organization structure, the blanket adopts a traditional weaving method in Central Plains area; the back brocade with red ground, Neolamarckia cadamba, linked-pearls and crescent patterns displays technical features of typical twill weft brocade in Central Asia; and as for its pattern, it presents a strong exotic flavor by focusing on such themes as linked-pearls, Apollo, crescent, elephant and pipa, etc, which are typical products combining Chinese and western styles. Based on detailed comparisons between other fabrics with the same pattern style and the popular period when plain weave warp brocade and twill weft brocade were widely used, this cultural relic is supposed to be between Northern dynasties and Sui dynasty.
