舍利匣为佛教葬具，是存放佛教大德高僧骨灰的盒子。1966年在河南省密县法海寺旧址北宋塔基中出土了宋代三彩舍利匣。这件宋三彩舍利匣，由底座、匣身、顶盖三部分组成，四面镂空，匣身四角下面，每个角塑有一个蹲狮，匣身中间各有一个门，门两侧站有守门者，通体施褐、黄、绿三色釉。这件舍利匣将堆、贴、镂空等多种装饰技术相结合，制作精美，巧夺天工。
英语语境:
Feretory is a Buddhist funeral ware that is used to store the ashes of eminent monks. In 1966, one three-colour glazed pottery feretory of Song Dynasty was unearthed on a pedestal of Buddhist pagoda on the former site of Fahai Temple in Mixian, Henan Province. The feretory consists of three parts: the base, the body and the top cover. The four sides are hollowed out and there is one crouched lion being carved around the four corners of the feretory. In the middle of the body, there is one door respectively with gatekeepers. The whole body of the feretory is glazed with brown, yellow and green. Briefly, the feretory is exquisitely made with a combination of decorative techniques such as embossing, decal, and hollowing out.
