The archaeological materials of Xinjiang are important for discussing the origins of the early Scythian Culture and the relationship between Scythian Culture and the eastern Eurasian Steppes. Xinjiang and its peripheral areas had had interactions with Pontic area before the westward migration of Scythians, in which the remains of the Sandaohaizi Culture played a primary role and its expansion was also the main cause of the westward migration of Scythians. After the westward migration of Scythians, the Eurasian Steppes enter an age of nomadic economy as the main economic type and the polarization of the peoples living on the steppes was intensified but their cultures were converging and the nomadic culture was gradually formed on the steppes.
