In October 1980, archaeologists excavated two large painted bronze chariots and horses in a burial pit in the west wing of Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor. The excavation caused quite a stir both at home and abroad, and particularly aroused wide concern from historians and archaeologists who had launched a widely study by multiple perspectives. The renowned archaeologist professor Subai described it as “Crown of the Bronze”. Another celebrated scholar made his comments at them as follows: “the bronze chariots and horses amazed us by their accurate modeling, spectacular adornment, complete driving apparatus and exquisite technique, which is a follow-up to the excavation of Terracotta Warriors and is another greatest wonder in the history of human civilization”.
