Wangshi garden is honored as the best small garden in Suzhou. Although it occupies only 4720 square meters, the visitors feels that the Wangshi garden is much larger than its real covered area when they are in the garden. The central attraction of Wangshi Garden is the basic essential for people to visit this classical garden in Suzhou. Revolving around the Caixia pond, the rocks, flowers and buildings are all composed appropriately. In order to avoid the spatial oppression upon the pond caused by tall buildings, the massive architectures such as the Small Hill and Osmanthus Fragance Pavilion and the Watching Pines and Appreciating Paitings Studio, are shaded by either rocks or flowers and keep a certain distance away from the pond. For one thing, the two architectures, together with rocks and flowers can form their individual construction patterns; for another, each construction form has its own characteristics, which enables the central attraction to achieve its finest scenic effects. It is worthwhile for contemporary garden buildings to draw a lesson from Wangshi Garden's spatial construction technique of "more in little".
