The Gaoling crossbow was made during the period of King Zhao of the Qin in the Warring States Period. Lord Gaoling was conferred lands including Gaoling, Peng, Deng. Gaoling is what Gaoling county is located today in Shanxi. Peng is where Zhenyuan county is located today in east Gansu and Peng is in the surrounding of Yancheng county in Henan. The discovery of this crossbow has provided precious physical information for studying history, geography and characters of the state Qin in the Warring States Period. During that period, crossbow was made of bronze. It's a kind of device with interlocked spindle including parts like scope, hook, trigger, hitch and linking-keys.
