Some five-coloured porcelains and blue and white porcelains were unearthed in Fuyu in 1950s. From then on, more than one hundred burials dated from Ming Dynasty have been found in Fuyu, where many five-coloured and blue and white porcelains have been excavated. However, views on the date of the porcelains were very different. Recently, some archaeologists carried out relative studies on the five-coloured porcelains and blue and white porcelains unearthed from Huanying, Liujiazi, Gaerqi and Dahu Sites along the Songhua River basin. The result showed that all of the excavations of porcelains unearthed in Fuyu over the past years derived from Jingdezhen kiln for both official and civil use in the middle and late period of Ming Dynasty.

From then on, multicoloured porcelain really came into the area of overglazed multicoloured porcelain. Kangxi multicoloured porcelain is the masterpiece of overglazed colors in Qing Dynasty with a strong folk artistic style, which represents the highest level of the development of polychrome porcelains and has a distinctive feature of the times. Kangxi multicoloured porcelains can be divided into two categories: one is painted with blue-and-white multicoloured decorations and the other with overglazed multicoloured decorations, whose appearance has an epoch-making significance.
