桌子有两种形式，一种有束腰，一种无束腰。有束腰桌子是在桌面下装一道缩进面沿的线条，尤如给家具系上一条腰带，故名“束腰”。束腰下的牙板仍与面沿垂直。束腰有两种作法，一种低束腰，一种高束腰。低束腰的牙板下一般还要安罗锅枨和矮佬，或者霸王枨。如果不用罗锅枨和霸王枨，则必须在足下装托泥，起额外加固作用。

英语语境:

There're two kinds of desks, one is with corset-shaped parts while the other without corset-shaped parts. The desk with corset-shaped parts usually has a line installed under the desk top which retracts into the surface edges as if a corset were attached to the desk, hence it's called corset-shaped part. The serrated board below the corset-shaped part is still perpendicular with the surface edge. The corset-shaped part can be either placed in a high position or in a low position. The serrated board with corset-shaped parts in the low position needs arched braces, short sticks or giant arched braces. In order to reinforce the desk, footpads are necessary to be installed if there are no arched braces or giant arched braces.
