The technology of celadon matured in the late Easter Han dynasty. The successful production of celadon in Yue Kiln was a milestone in the development of Chinese ceramics. Most of the early green-glazed porcelains or porcelain fragments wear green with a shade of yellow or gray, which indicates that most of the porcelains were made in a weak deoxidation atmosphere or weak oxidation atmosphere, because it is only in a strong deoxidation atmosphere that the bright green celadon can be created. Recently, a company in Shangdong innovated the traditional celadon technology by burning celadons in oxidation atmosphere with CuO and Fe2O3 as colorants. Celadons burned in oxidizing flame assumed stable verdant colour and fine texture.
