2005年12月，为配合南水北调中线丹江口水利枢纽加高工程，河南省文物考古研究所对阎杆岭墓群Ⅱ区的83号墓进行发掘。该墓为“甲”字形积石积炭墓，出土鼎、罐、瓮、壶、仓、灶等陶器和铜盆、铜甑、铜釜、铜五铢钱、铜兵器、铜车马器、铁剑等随葬器物99件。从墓葬形制和出土文物判断，该墓年代为西汉晚期。

英语语境:

In December 2005, in coordination with the heightening works of the Danjiangkou key water control facilities in the middle line of the project of shifting southern water to the north, the Henan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology excavated Tomb 83 in Area Ⅱ of the Yanganling Cemetery. The tomb pit was shaped like the Chinese character“甲”and filled with stone and charcoal. It yielded 99 funeral objects, including some potteries like Ding (an ancient cooking vessel with two loop handles and three or four legs), jars, urns, pots, model granary, and kitchen range, etc; and bronze basin, bronze Zeng (an ancient earthen utensil for steaming rice), bronze cauldron, Wuzhu coin, bronze weapons, bronze chariots and horses, iron sword, etc. Judging from its shapes and the excavations, the tomb may derive from the late Han Period.
