在甘肃省天水市东南50公里处，西秦岭山脉小陇山的深处，曲径通幽，百鸟齐啭，溪水潺潺，层峦叠嶂。美境中突起一座并不算高的孤峰，只见其形似麦垛，颜呈紫褐， 崖面龛似蜂窝，栈道纵横飞架，烟雨笼罩之时，横云飞渡之际，犹如海市蜃楼之幻景。这就是被誉为“秦地林朱之冠”，以精美的塑像闻名于世，位列中国四大石窟之一的麦积山。

英语语境:

50 km southeast to Tianshui City of Gansu Province, deep in Xiaolong hill of the west Qinling Mountains, there is a wind path leading to a secluded place with birds singing, stream flowing and peaks rising one higher than the other. In this beautiful place, rises a not high isolated peak in the shape of a stack of wheat with puce color. The niche in the cliff face looks like a honeycomb, and the plank road are erected freely. When the peak is being surrounded by mist and rain, and clouds are waving, it likes a mirage. That is the Maiji mountain which is praised as “the Champion of Qin Area and Forest”. It is famous for exquisite statues, and ranks as one of the four large grotto groups in China.
