In Ming and Qing Dynasties, the development of prominent clan entered a new era, which was inextricably linked to social changes. A better way to observe the Ming and Qing society was to observe the formation of prominent clans during this period which inevitably needed their own efforts since they could not inherit hereditary honor as those powerful family clan before Song Dynasty. In traditional society, Chinese people cannot be solely regarded as a mere individual; their social activities were associated with the clan which he belonged to, and positions of the clan can be embodied by the achievements of its clansman.
