Qing Qianlong Palace Museum preserves five pieces of writing brush of the same shape. The length of the brush tube is 11.4cm, and the diameter of the brush funnels is 7.1cm. They are put in a cloud-grain brocade box. The brush tube is short and bulky and the brush funnel is plump. They are decorated with painted lacquer and outlined in gold. And the theme among the various decorations include cloud bat, dragon and phoenix, cloud dragon, ganoderma, bat, fairy land and pavilion, and so on, which are lined with lotus branch lines. Grabbing brush is also called soaked brush, whose tube is short and bulky, for it is used to write big characters on the poster. The brush hair is usually made of pig's hair or hose's hair. The characters with this kind of brush look strong and vigorous.
