本研究以乡村地理学、乡村规划学和乡村社会学等领域为背景，着眼于空间、时间和主体3个维度，对增长极理论、中心地理论、农业区位论、经济成长阶段论、空心村生命周期理论、社区（公众）参与等中心村镇建设相关理论进行梳理分析，探讨了这些理论在我国中心村镇建设与规划中的应用，认为中心村镇建设需要加强基础理论研究，分类指导我国中心村镇建设的实践。
英语语境:
Based on knowledge from rural geography, rural planning and rural sociology, this thesis examines the six major concepts relevant to central settlement construction in rural areas, including growth pole, central place, agricultural location theory, stages of economic growth, life cycle of village evolvement and community participation, and discusses their practical applications. It is suggested that research on the fundamental theories of central settlement construction in rural areas should be improved, because they play an essential role in rural reconstruction.
