After World War II, the world has experienced three waves of cross-border M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions). There were two attractive upsurges from the end of 1980s to the beginning of 21 century. One appeared at the end of 1980s and the other appeared at the end of 1990s. After a short intermission at the beginning of 21 century, the fourth cross-border M&A wave comes and goes straightly to the upsurge. The main features of this wave of cross-border M&A are: the growth of cross-border mergers and acquisitions in developing countries, the increase of the primary industry in cross-border mergers and acquisitions and the way of exchanging stocks in block trading.
