Researchers develop an economic model to analyze the problems concerning FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) policy and its economic effects in China. The study shows that neither restricting FDI nor adopting excessive preferential policies for FDI can maximize the national welfare in the short run; but for long-run dynamic considerations, whether the incentive packages of FDI can increase the national welfare depends upon the effect of foreign-funded enterprises on the technological level of national enterprises.
