The joint venture of enterprises may lead to the integration of economic activities that can promote efficiency. Meanwhile, it has the possibility to induce harm to competition. Due to this dual character, the joint venture has always been an issue of concern in application of Anti-monopoly Law. Anti-monopoly regulations on joint venture mainly involve the concentration control of undertakings and the regulation of monopolistic agreements, in which both EU and US have developed a unique set of application pattern. In Anti-monopoly Law of China, there is no specific provision targeted at the concentration control of joint ventures, which leaves room for uncertainty in practice.
