Before the Pacific War broke out, the nationalists of Burma took the position of narrow nationalism concerning independence and chose the way of uniting with Japan while opposing Great Britain, which was in fact equal to opening the door to a dangerous foe. The British Empire during the crisis stubbornly carried out the colonial domination and high-handed policy which led to the occupation of Burma by the Japanese invaders. The allied forces of China, Great Britain, USA and India, together with the national insurrectionary army of Burma did much to recover the lost territory of Burma.
