《唐律疏议》“户婚律”中规定“诸祖父母，父母在，而子孙别籍异财者，徒三年”，“诸同姓为婚者，各徒二年”此后的《大明律》、《大清律例》也作了类似规定。
英语语境:
In the Laws and Regulations of Tang Dynasty（promulgated during the reign of emperor of yonghui)the Family stipulates that descendants whose parents or grandparents are still alive seek to separate from an extended family shall be sentenced to a fixed imprisonment of three years; No marriage may be contracted if the man and the woman shares the same family name, any one violate shall be sentenced to a fixed imprisonment of two years. Similar stipulations were made in the Law of Ming Dynasty and Code of Qing Dynasty.
