In order to solve the problem of the current air pollution surveillance system including poor expansibility, weak flexibility, scarce capacity of coping with the emergent air pollution, etc., an air pollution real-time surveillance system based on wireless sensor network has been developed. The architecture of the system and the implementation methods are provided. The system has adopted a multi-layered architecture formed by wireless sensor network surveillance node, aggregation node, monitoring center, control terminal, and mobile terminal. The system has monitored the concentration of CO and CO2 in the air, with a collection of data per half an hour. The result of the test shows the practicability of the system and proves it to be applicable in both daily and emergent air pollution surveillance fields.
