Delinquency in a Birth Cohort was published in 1972 by American scholar Marvin Wolfgang. It was a study of 9, 945 boys born in Philadelphia in 1945, and they were traced to 1963. The phenomenon indicated that 6% of the youth were chronic recidivist arrested for five times or more. They were responsible for 52 %( 5, 305 crimes in all) of the delinquency within the entire study. More importantly, most of the crimes were serious crimes.
