英语语境:

The right of national self-determination refers to the independent right of the colony or the nations that are being invaded and captured by foreign military to decide their own political fate and to build independent national country. In post-colonial era, it refers to the right of national states to freely decide their own political status and social, economic and legal system as well as the right to freely dispose their wealth and natural resources. At first, the right of self-determination theory is a basic principle of Marxism in dealing with ethnic question, its application necessitates some preconditions. Later, it becomes a basic principle in international laws, playing an important role in history.
