不同的历史时期文化传递方向是有差异的，表现为：在典型的农业社会中，文化由长辈向晚辈传递，形成一种后喻文化；在典型的工业社会中，更多的是同辈人相互传递，形成一种同喻文化；在后工业社会中，则越来越体现为长辈向晚辈学习，形成一种前喻文化。三种不同的文化传递模式影响了教育的价值取向，形成了与之相应的三种教育取向:“复制”取向的教育、“适应”取向的教育与“创新”取向的教育。

英语语境:

The direction of Culture Transfer is different in different period. Concretely speaking, it transfers from eldership to junior and forms a kind of Postfigurative culture in the typical agriculture society. In the typical industry society, it transfers between compeer and form a kind of Cofigurative culture. In the post-industry society, it is transferring from junior to eldership and forming a kind of Prefigurative culture. These three different modes mostly influence the tropism of education value, corresponding to the three modes of tropism of education: “replication”, “adaptation” and “innovation”.

Intercultural communication, with the focus on dialogue between cultures, is receiving an increasing attention in the academic world. It requires that foreign language learners not only know the culture of the target language but deeply understand their own culture as well. A Continuing Climb and Glimpses of Chinese Culture, written by Professor Ding Wangdao, are good examples of disseminating Chinese culture in English. This paper analyzes the content and language features of the two books, and reveals that language, in disseminating culture, is equally influenced by culture.
