村委会的选举，是一种在一定范围内有选择的选举。随着村委会组织法得到有效实施，村民在很大程度上可以根据自己的利益和偏好对候选人进行选择。由于村民之间的利益划分往往是以地域关系为基础的，因此，是地域关系而不是家族关系，成为影响村民对候选人进行选择的最主要因素。

英语语境:

Village Committee Elections, along with increasingly effective implementations of the Organization Law of Village Committees, allow villagers to choose from a number of candidates as their leaders according to their own interests and preferences. In rural China, villagers interests vary as their territorial relation. Locality, therefore, becomes the most important factor influencing villager's choice of candidates, rather than familial relationship.
