Fenghuangshan, may be translated in English as the Pheonix Mountain, is the place of the origin of the She ethnic minority, one of the fifty-six ethnic groups of China． She people's ancestors were once the most influencial group in the East Guangdong area． Now, Fenghuangshan's She people still keep their ethnic ritual tradition: Zhaobing Festival( Heavenly Soldier Recruiting Festival), and it has been passed down for many generations． This tradition does not exist in other She regions． The festival is celebrated only in Fenghuangshan as She's ethnic culture．
