近年来，美国学者提出三种国际战略的理论， 即主张美国应该在战略上改扩张为收缩的“辐合论”，主张美国应以亚太作为战略中心的“重返亚洲论”， 以及主张未来美国应从全球霸权适时地转变为全球领导的“战略性领导理论”。鉴于制衡、规范和引导是未来一个时期美国对华的主要举措，因此中国对美的战略选择应是不主动挑战美国的现有地位，也不屈服于美国的压力，以斗争谋合作。

In recent years, American scholars put forward three kinds of international strategic theory claiming that the United States should change the strategic expansion to the contraction of “convergence theory”, and that the United States should promote “return to Asia theory” with the Asia-pacific as a strategic center, and that the future U.S. global hegemony should be timely changed into global leadership “strategic leadership theory”. Since check and balance are the main measure of the United States towards China, China's strategic choice against US is to not challenge the existing status of US while not giving in to its pressure and fight for cooperation.
