教坊是赵宋王朝最重要的俗乐机构，北宋教坊覆灭于靖康二年(1127)。随着北宋政权的灭亡，教坊的主体——教坊乐人以各种方式大量损失，其方式大约有三种:一是在宋金战争中获罪，或被处死，或叛归金人；二是宋金战争前后，背井离乡，流落四方；三是被攻陷汴京的金军劫往金国。教坊乐人的流散一方面使宋代音乐文化的发展遭到了重大挫折；另一方面也促进了教坊音乐文化的传播。
