从共时平面上看，《醒世姻缘传》一书中繁多且丰富的亲属称谓能够反映清代亲属称谓的大概面貌；从历时平面看，以《醒世姻缘传》亲属称谓为代表的近代汉语亲属称谓在亲属称谓发展演变过程中具有承上启下的作用，既有继承性，也有发展性。从历时角度看，亲属称谓在不同的历史时期的特点主要有两个方面：一是核心亲属称谓的稳定性，二是基本亲属结构的稳定性；亲属称谓的发展趋势：一是亲属称谓的双音化，二是亲属称谓的丰富化，三是亲属称谓的细分化，四是亲属称谓的简化。

From the perspective of synchronic study, the various kinship terms can represent the overall situation of kinship terms in Qing Dynasty. From the perspective of diachronic study, the kinship terms in modern Chinese represented by the kinship terms in this novel are the transition in the kinship term development. There are two aspects in common.1. The terms of core relatives are stable.2. The basic kinship structure is stable. As for the trend of development, this paper concludes the following four aspects:1. bisyllablization of kinship terms;2. enrichment of kinship terms;3. subdivision of kinship terms;4. simplification of kinship terms.
