语义的表层结构就是符合语法的义位序列。义位是有它的“ 音响形象” 的，义位的“ 义” 是人所共知的公设义。这种义位序列里的音响形象如果转换为音，就成为公设性的语言中的句子。语义的深层结构就是一段共时存在的有组织的思想。同一思想可以用不同语言去表达；但实际上思想中义位的标志却是各民族语词的音响形、象，这就保证了一段思想能等值于一种民族语言的语义深层结构，从而能便捷地转换为这一民族语言的发音的表层结构。

英语语境:

The surface structure of language meaning is grammatical glosseme sequence. The glosseme has its 'sound image', the meaning of glosseme is axiom meaning. If the sound image in the glosseme sequence was transformed to sound, then this glosseme sequence became the sentence in the language. The deep structure of language meaning is synchronical organized idea. The same idea can be expressed by different language. In fact, the glosseme mark is the sound image of various national languages. So an idea equals to the deep structure of a national language sound.
