西汉早期的石槨画像常见菱形纹饰、玉璧、树木、人物、楼阁等画像。比较当时大型墓葬的棺槨装饰得知，菱形纹饰以及玉璧画像可谓模拟当时贵族的漆棺镶玉装饰。相对于此，树木纹饰可谓象征良木棺槨自身，进而象征墓上的封树等。除此，人物纹饰则是如同人俑一般，可谓服侍墓主的象征。
英语语境:
There were diamond ornamentations and patterns of jade discs, trees, figures, pavilions... etc in Early Han dynasty sarcophaguses. The diamond ornamentation was copied from the pattern of aristocratic sarcophaguses, the jade disc pattern was from the real jade disc of aristocratic funeral objects. On the other hand, the tree pattern was a symbol of coffins. In addition, patterns of figures were symbols of servants in tombs.
