就彝语的历史和现状来说，不具备统一文字的条件。因此，整理规范彝文不必追求全民族的书同文，应该考虑彝语方言的实际情况，分别在社会生活联系密切、语言一致性较强的区域内确定该地区的标准方言，使彝文的整理规范以该标准方言为基础进行。

Due to the historical development of Yi writing system and the current differences among sub-groups of the Yi oral language, it is impossible to unify the entire Yi writing system under one standardized writing system. We should determine, separate and individualize systems specific to each of the sub-groups. Such standardization should be based on areas in which people connect each other closely and share more similar languages.
